Mr. Marshburn cites another use for Fat Tire Amber Ale

About: Epicurean Kentuckian Fat Tire Amber Ale

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

A real coincidence that my son had at least one of these in Steamboat Springs, CO, this week during spring break from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. I had never heard of it. I'll bet shrimp boiled in this would be very tasty!

s/Charles Marshburn

Well, I'll be! You can drink it, too? Boiling shrimp in it was Fat Tire's only intended use as far as we had known. Thanks for making us aware of this additional utility. -EK

Mabel Blankenship had a gift for healing

By Ann Burton Murphy

Once I cut myself and I was bleeding profusely, so someone went and got Mabel Blankenship.

Mabel had a gift of healing. When something serious came up, everyone went to her, especially poor people, and the older ones that didn't trust doctors, as well.

As I said before, my foot was really bleeding. I remember, at least three big pans of bloody water, that someone kept changing, while my mom held me, to keep me still.

Mabel took my foot between her hands, looked at me and after a few minutes the bleeding stopped. Mabel was a hard working woman and was greatly missed after she passed on.

I did learn one of her healing powers, and it does work.

Contrarian may turn on all lights during Earth Hour

About: xxxx

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

This Earth Hour thing is as phony as Global Warming, and the people are being hoaxed into this atmosphere of comming togeather to help. Truth is, they are being brainwashed into letting the Govt. and the United Nations squeeze more and more liberty and freedom, and money from them and making them feel good about it. Yes, turning off lights, tonite or anytime will cut back on energy. But when a cut back happens, no matter what the product, water, fuel, in this case electric power, the cost will eventually go up. So the Sheeple will all comply. Me, I may turn on all my lights for that hour time period.

April Fool's Day comes early in Whitewood, Green Co., KY

Click on headline for complete story with photo

By Cindy Meyer
ColumbiaMagazine.com Sycamore Springs, Adair-Green Co., KY frontier correspondent

Hello again, still reading ColumbiaMagazine.com from the far corners of the county.

With April Fools Day just around the corner. I thought I'd pass on this photo of a Daffodil snatched from the yard of Mrs. Eliza Perkins who lives in the Whitewood Community of Green County, KY.

Ms Perkins who was completely unaware that the Daffodil was plucked from her very own yard was heard to say... " Those are so pretty, I never have seen a Daffodil quite like that. I sure would like to have a few of those bulbs."

Her son David could not hold his amusement, chuckled and said, "Mom, those are your Daffodils, we just added food coloring to the water, and they absorbed it through the stems." It was an elementary school Science experiment with a slight twist rekindled as a prelude to a Perfect April Fool Joke.

David Jones is now on B 'n' M Fishing Pro staff

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

B&M is fortunate to have David Jones on board as one of their Pro Staff. As a fisherman who has booked a trip with this Green River guide service, I was amazed at David's knowledge of the lake and his ability to locate and catch crappie. I can't see that there will be much need for his guarantee of a return free trip I learned a lot from David in one day, he's a natural teacher who loves to teach. I can also attest to his ability as a cook.s/Terry Partin
