An Open Letter to the Editor Tonya Dunn writes: Open Letter to the Editor, Regarding the animals seized over the weekend at the erstwhile "rescue" facility. While browsing over craigslist in the pet section I found a posting by someone trying to help save those poor animals. Apparently the shelter could only take so many and the rest were ordered to be put down. The posting brought to my mind a quote by the Indian political and spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi who said, "One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals."I want to look at that statement just a moment and tell you what it means to me.
