Funeral services will be held at 2:00pmCT, Saturday, February 21, 2008, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Shirley-Dickson Cemetery on Prices Creek Road in Adair County, KY. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, February 20, 2009, and after 9:00amCT, Saturday, February 21 at the funeral home.

Dr. Hedrick to present 2nd piano recital in the Gheens

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. - Campbellsville University School of Music voice faculty member Dr. David Hedrick will present his second recital of the school year on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 8:00pmET in The Gheens Recital Hall on the university campus.

The program will consist of 15th and 16th century Italian art songs and 20th century songs accompanied by string quartet. Composers include Legrenzi, Torelli, Scarlatti, Britten, and American composers Randall Thompson and Clara Edwards.

KTC Engineering scholarship deadline is March 1, 2009

The deadline to submit applications for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's civil engineering scholarship is just around the corner. The completed application must be submitted, along with two letters of recommendation, by March 1, 2009.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awards from 10 to 20 new scholarships each year to civil engineering students attending the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, or Western Kentucky University. Students may also attend pre-engineering courses offered at Kentucky State University or through the Kentucky Community and Technical College system.

The Camp Casey Adventure Class had a busy, educational trip Monday, February 16, 2008, on a trip with took them to the Museum of the Barrens in Glasgow, KY; to Park Mammoth Resort in Park City, KY; and finally, a visit to Mammoth Cave National Park. Students taking the adventure on Monday were Grace Antle, Owen Grant, Haley Morgan, Emmaly Lee, Sydney Waggener, Mary Perkins, Savannah Starks, Alayna Willis, and Benjamin Hancock.On Monday, Februrary 16, 2009, students who participate in 21st Century's Camp Casey Kentucky Adventure class used their day off to continue learning.

"We would like to express a most heartfelt 'thank you' to our community for its generosity and continued support of our programs," Christmas Kettle and Senior Angel co-chair Ellen Zornes said. "Without our community support, the Salvation Army could not survive and could not serve our community."

Injury accident occurs on Bernard Ridge in Russell County

A crash occurred at 11:37amCT on HWY 619, two miles east of Russell Springs, KY, on Bernard Ridge on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, when Jacqueline C. Tharp, 44, Jamestown, lost control of an eastbound black 1996 Chevrolet pickup, which struck a utility pole.

Tharp, who was not belted, was transported by EMS to Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, KY.

The incident was investigated by Trooper Adam Likins of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.

I am Lynn Martin, daughter of Donald Bomar (son of Omar Bomar) and Dawn G. Campbell, (daughter of Arthel Campbell born in Grand Rivers Kentucky). I am researching both the Bomar and Campbell family histories. I live in Lockland, Ohio (a village outside of Cincinnati), am mother of two, grandmother of 9 beautiful children and family historian.

Omar Bomar's father was Logan Bomar of Columbia, Kentucky, based on his death record and married to Rose? I'm particularly interested in this generation.
