No School in Adair District today, Thurs., Jan. 29, 2009 David Jones, Director of Student Transportation in the Adair County School District, called at 6:05pmCT , Wednesday, January 28, 2009, to announce that there will be no school in the Adair County School District tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, 2009. "There were a combination of factors," he said. "There is the flooding and the damage it caused and there are still slick spots from the snow and ice. Beshear activates 500 soldiers in wake of winter storm Frankfort, KY- -More than 500 members of the Kentucky National Guard have been activated in support of relief efforts in the wake of the current winter storm emergency. Obituary: Julia Cole Loy, 64 Mrs. Loy was a retired Adair County teacher and was a member of Columbia Baptist Church Julia Cole Loy, age 64, of Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY, after several weeks illness. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Dr. Rachel Marshall and Dr. Michael O'Neal the officiating clergy.
