Letter: Doesn't think police officers think themselves above law

About: "Letter Kentucky should impose rules on police speeding"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I have to disagree with the comments made about local law enforcement officers. I do not think that the police officers think they are above the law.

They do their job to the best of their ability with the resources they have available to them. Most citizens do not understand the difference in a civil dispute and a criminal situation; thus, they call the police.

Letter: More bad driving habits on KY 704 besides tailgating

About: "Wants speeding enforcement on KY 704"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

They not only speed and tailgate they also like to cross over the line into the other lane of traffic especially when it is in a curve. It's kind of like they just want to drive straight even if the road has a curve in it.

Letter: Writer says she was almost hit head on at KY 55 S/CWB

About: Writer thinks more signs needed before more lights

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I agree with Mr. Burress about needing a light on KY 55 South.Just today, I was almost hit, head-on, by a car that was on my side of the road, trying to get on the bypass. The way they have that center lane is very confusing. At night, it's even worse. It's getting to where I go to Russell Springs, to do my shopping.

It's a lot safer than trying to get to Wal-Mart, or anywhere else, via the bypass.

Letter: Columbia Police do a great job

About: "Kentucky should impose rules on police speeding"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Regarding the comments made by Mr. Owens and Mr. McKinley, I think our Police Officers do a fine job and should hear a "thank you" every now and then. And, by the way, do you have a radar in your car to clock the so called speeding police cars?

I think the Columbia Police do a great job. They need to hear thank you every now and then and not be bashed by the people they serve and protect.
