ONE of the MOST BEAUTIFUL STORIES about Thanksgiving was posted Thursday on CM. The story, "A Memorable Hinman Thanksgiving. ca 1933," was written by 86 year old Charles Hinman, above. Another of Mr. Hinman's short stories will appear on Sunday, November 30, 2008.

In the fall of 1954, I came home from school at Yellow Hammer one day to find Hudson Willis, (Beanpole) on top of our house installing a TV antenna. We only got Channel 3 in Louisville, but it was great!

In unpacking some books last week I ran across a copy of Best and Worst of Beanpole.

ACFD puts out flu fire; no other damage to Millerfield house

The Adair County Fire Department responded to a flu fire on Millerfield Road off KY HWY 206, on Friday, November 28, at 1:23pmCT to a residence owned by Ralph Grider.The fire was contained to the flu only; there was no damage to the home.

There were 5 firemen on the scene for around 45 minutes

A benefit will be he held for Tim & Ashley Bottoms on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Tim suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns last week when his hot water outdoor stove fell over on him and the hot water covered most of his body. They have no insurance.
