Hope for return of Charlie improves

There's new hope that Charlie, a delightfully cute boxer mix puppy, may be found soon. His owners say that he may have been spotted in the Louie B. Nunn Parkway/Speedway area on the south side of Columbia, The Yadons are now offering a reward for his safe return. Michelle Yaden writes, "My kids are looking for him everyday."

Charlie is a mixed boxer puppy about 10 weeks old. He is light brown with a black face and white goatee; he has white feet. He was lost in the West Frazier Avenue part of town--near Sav-a-lot and the Masonic Lodge area. Michelle Yadon writes, "My kids are heartbroken and would love to have him back. If you have seen him, please call me at these numbers, (270) 380-1254 or my cell (270) 805-1647. Thanks so very much!"

Comment: Full Moon photo reminds reader of Light of the World

About: Full Beaver Moon by Shamarie Claiborne

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

This photo caught my eye and if I were putting a name on it, I would call it L I F E. The wisest man to ever leave his wisdom in written word said something like this, "Life is a few days and full of trouble." The darkness remains me of the troubles all of us experience as we go through our life, yet there is light!

What a wonderful thing to find light in all the darkness. I am learning to focus on the Light rather than the darkness. I can see beauty being illuminated at the realm of the darkness by the Light. I am so glad the Light has a name and a personality. The light of the world is Jesus!

CU changed Green Countian's future from dark to light

Belinda "Beau" Wilkins-Smith had never allowed herself to dream of college, but an unemployment officer's directive to go to Campbellsville University, where she met mentor Dr. Ralph Tesseneer who helped change her life.

By Linda Marcum Waggener
Story courtesy Campbellsville University

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY- When Belinda "Beau" Wilkins-Smith entered Campbellsville University her last name was Black and she recalls that her outlook was just about that dark. Discounted by a father who told her that college was a waste of time for girls who would just get married and have a bunch of kids, she held a belief that female children couldn't dream beyond that.

Her story of how she came to be a1995 graduate with a double major in psychology and sports medicine who is now a forest ranger and a volunteer at Clay Hill Memorial Forest is one of inspiration.
