Letter: Tired of driving 20 minutes through Green Hills

Thinks Lincoln Logs would have been quicker
Ed,

Any word on when Road 80 Bridge will be opened? I think I could have built it with Lincoln Logs quicker! I'm so sick of driving Green Hills and taking 20 mintues to get into town when it once was a 5 minute trip!

Any update would be appreciated!

Gardening tip: Take out cucumber beetles with soap spray!

Barbara Armitage urges gardeners to show no mercy for cute Cucumber Beetles. Advocates pre-emptive strike with Soap Spray. How-to below!

Tony Harvey request for advice
Photo, Cucumber Beetle

By Barbara Armitage

I really enjoyed my ONE day off. I'm back in the garden now and ready to fight. Cucumber Beetles can devastate your crop very fast so keep an eye open. As soon as you spot the first beetle, let um' have it with a shot of Soap Spray.

Soap Spray for Cucumber Beetles and other garden pests

You can spray for insects with this mixture as often as needed. Always spray in the early morning or evenings to avoid sun burning the leaves.
  • 2 cups water
  • 1- 2 tablespoons liquid soap (like Ivory, NOT detergent)
  • 1/4 cup oil vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground chili peppers
Mix together and shake well.
