All Adair Countians can help recognize ACHS Band

Band Boosters are reaching out for help to get rings for great 2008 High School Marching Band

By Vicki Miller

The Adair County Band Boosters have asked me to reach out to the kind and generous people of Adair County for their help. At our last meeting we made the decision to purchase Championship rings for all our hard working band members. As you may already know, the 2007 marching season was their best yet! They not only won their second Class A National title but they were also the only Class A band ever to win a Regional Championship.

Accounts have been opened at all the local banks. The Band Boosters and Band members greatly appreciate any and all donations. If you have questions you can contact me at vicki54@alltel.net or call (270) 384-3126 or you can ask any member of the Adair Co. Band Boosters.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Gas Price Drumbeat: Shops for groceries out-of-town, too

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

My husband and I just made a trip to Nashville, TN on Tuesday. Gas in Franklin, KY was $3.06 per gallon.

Why is Columbia always so much higher then the counties around us? I never buy gas in Adair County, nor do I grocery shop here.Hey! I'm sorry that I take my money out of Adair County, but I will go where it is cheaper. If everyone would go out of Adair County to buy their gas, maybe they would bring the prices down.

s/L. Stephens

Thanks. Your position is understood. We won't go out of Adair County to buy gas. We buy from locally owned gas stations because we don't believe that they should be penalized for something which isn't their fault. -EW

GAS PRICE DRUMBEAT: Word from Glasgow

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

Sorry to hear that gas is high like it is there in Columbia.

Here in Glasgow the price as of yesterday was 3.06 per gallon. At one station, if paying with cash it is 5 cents off that.

Don't really understand why it is higher in some areas and lower in others. Maybe someone can enlighten everyone.
