Birthplace of modern agriculture in Adair County (Dec. 9, 2007, 1:06pmCT) K. Scott, Mayor of Bliss, KY, remembers a very important detail about the picture of the Columbia High School gymnasium sent posted by Larry Smith. It is the place of birth of modern farming, as we know it: "When you look at the building, you see the porch that covers the basement entrance," Mr. Scott wrote. "if you took the basement door to the left, it would lead you to place of birth of modern agriculture in Adair County. Casey man at UK hospital following handgun accident A Casey County man was transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital after slipping on a ramp leading to a porch at his residence on O.B. Thomas Road, Liberty, KY. Phillip W. Foley, 85, was first treated at Russell County Hospital for the wound to his left shoulder from a .22. caliber handgun.
