Whooping cranes left Washington County this morning

Liz Condie reported at "In the Field" on "Operation Migration," that the 17 whooping cranes were able to leave Washington County, KY this morning.

Tony Harvey called this morning at 8:25amCT with the news. The official site does not include times, mostly, Tony Harvey said, because the Operation Migration people don't want to risk contact with humans. So far, no one has contacted us by email or at (270) 250-2730 of sightings over Adair County.

However, the site does suggest a chance to see the birds if lift-off from the next stop at Wolf Creek Dam is possible tomorrow morning. For details, Click Here.

In the session, the Council voted to approve a second reading of Ordinance No. 110.31 annexing 64 acres in Green Hills subdivision. Appended to the annexation ordinance were copies of letters requesting annexation from a majority of the residents. The letters were certified by City Clerk Carolyn Edwards.

Feedback: Christmas spirit makes Oregonian want to move here

Ed,

Ever since Joe Hare told me about your website, I have been an almost daily visitor.

What has warmed my heart recently is all the Christmas-related articles. Columbia being decorated for Christmas, the Christmas Parade, etc.

I applaud you folks in Adair County, Kentucky.

I wish I could move my entire extended family, including grandkids, to Adair County so that they would know the America I remember - one that applauds patriotism and celebrates Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
