Measures were taken to reduce or eliminate releases of leachate to the environment. Leachate is water that collects contaminants as it seeps through the landfill. Gas Price Drumbeat: Spoke too soon Editor: I mentioned yesterday our gas prices had come down. On the way home they had gone back up. In checking towns around us that was not the case. Just around us prices range from $2.73 up to $2.86. That is the same brand as we have here in Columbia. Here we go again raising gas prices for no reason. Ricky Vaughn, 43, Dunnville, KY, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (cocaine), and possession of drug parphernalia, 1st offense. Kentucky gets $500,000 to make colleges more adult-friendly Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story The Council on Postsecondary Education will receive $500,000 from Lumina Foundation for Education for a statewide effort to increase the number of working-age adults with college degrees.
