ACES Beta Club will host food drive for AC Food Pantry

The Adair County Elementary School Beta Club will be hosting a food drive for the Adair County Food Pantry.

Collections will start on Monday, November 26 and run through Friday, December 14, 2007.

The homeroom collecting the most nonperishable food items will receive a prize. Please support our students' efforts to help our community food pantry by donating just in time for Christmas!

If you do not have a student at ACES, please feel free to drop off items to the front office, and we'll make sure they get to the food pantry.

Homesick for Columbia, in Joplin, MO

I quit school in November of 1980 and have regretted it since.

But I received my G.E.D. in 88 and never gave much thought to continuing my education any further.

As the years passed, and both my children were grown, I decided to move away from Columbia and see what life offered elsewhere. I left Adair County on October 12th, 2005 to try a change in life.

Owner has new hope to find Maggie, the missing St. Bernard

Missing St. Bernard may be in the Corbin-Richard, Milltown Church Road area; if you've seen her, please give Jennifer Carter a call

To the editor, ColumbiaMagazine.com

I have an update on our missing St. Bernard, Maggie.

Yesterday my husband found an ad in the shopper about a large dog found in the Milltown Church Road area.

After talking to the person who placed the ad we found out it wasn't our beloved Maggie, but they had seen a St. Bernard in their area for about a month.

The Adair County PDB meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 5:30pmCT has been cancelled. They will have a special called meeting on Monday, December 10, 2007, at 5:00pmCT in the basement of the Adair County Annex Building. The meeting is open to the public.

President Carter shares vision of university with CTC Chamber

$76 plus million dollars flows through Taylor County because of the university

Campbellsville University president Dr. Michael V. Carter gave thanks and a vision of the future of CU to members of the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce as he spoke at the November luncheon.

"Your support is essential to our well-being," he said, "and in return, we believe our well-being is good for the community as demonstrated in the annual economic impact of Campbellsville University with $76 plus million dollars flowing through the community because of the university."

The Deer Hunt: Green Co. ahead in hunt totals, around here

Bizarre but apparently true; see chart or visit Telecheck at KY Fish & Wildlife to see for yourself

It would appear almost unfathomable, but here it is 5 days from the end of deer hunting season in vast Adair County (412) square miles, and local hunters have reported two fewer deer harvested than in tiny Green County (289 square miles).

CWC donates 814 cans, boxed items to Food Pantry

The Family Resource Center recently held a Holiday canned Food Drive atColonel William Casey School. The drive brought in 814 cans and boxed items for the AdairCounty Food Pantry.

Mrs. Jennifer Perkins' class collected 166 items, the most of any class and will receive a pizza party before Christmas.

The Adair County Recycling Center will allow free drop-offs of old computers for a three-day period from Monday, November 19, 2007, through Wednesday, November 21, 2007. 4-H Clover Buds meet
The next meeting for this years Clover Buds will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 starting at 6:00pmCT. This meeting will be held at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service. Clover Buds is a program for youth ages 5-8. There will be many different activities and project for youth to participate in during this year. This is designed to be a hand on program and youth who participate will learn many new things.
