Gov. Fletcher sends $500,000 more to blacktop Adair roads Grants not political, CJE says, but she wonders "How anybody in Adair County could even think of voting for anybody else, after all Governor Fletcher has done for us.?" Drivers on six more Adair County roads will be riding on smooth blacktop as soon as the work can be done, thanks to a $500,000 road grant from Gov. Ernie Fletcher, according to Adair County CJE Ann Melton. The new round of funding brings the total sent to Adair County in October 2007 to $950,000. "That's almost $1,200,000 for the last four months when you add in the $240,00 we received for the Neat Hollow paving and the Scott Hill project," she said. Fall Camp for kids at New Life for the Nations New LIfe for the Nations will have a fall camp for Children on Friday and Saturday, November 9-10, 2007. Mr. Balloon Man will be here to teach, sing, and do his balloon tricks. Registration is 5:00 Friday evening. Children may stay overnight for more games and crafts, or they may just come or the service. Service is 6:00pmCT, Friday, November 9, 2007, and 8:30amCT on Saturday morning, November 10, 2007. Pick up time is 11:00amCT on Saturday. There is a $5:00 registration fee. Pastor LaVerne will be cooking the traditional camp breakfast with biscuit and gravy, and chocolate gravy for the children.
