Gas price drumbeat: 30 cents lower, Amazon worker says

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I work at Amazon in C-ville and yesterday when gas was $2.89 in Columbia it was only $2.59 at a Marathon in C-ville. Since working over at Amazon and being in C-ville nearly everyday I am spending most of my paycheck there also. Cigarettes are almost a dollar cheaper also. Mr. Doss is right when he says gas is always higher in Columbia.

GAS PRICE DRUMBEAT: He's shopping out of town

To the editor

Gas is always cheaper in Glasgow by at least 20 cents. This is the way it is at least 95% of the time. When you drive at least a 1000 miles a week for work that is out of town that is a big savings and a motivator to purchase the gas out of town. You know groceries are the sameway. Pack your cooler on payday and shop the stores out of town.

The Gas Price Drumbeat: Another question unanswered

Editor, ColumbiaMagazine.com:

As I went through town yesterday a station out on HWY 55 gas had gone to $2.89 per gallon. Went back through town and other gas stations had gone to $2.89 as well.

I was just wondering if all stations got a load of gas at the same that caused them all to go up.

I too would love to see the Dancing with the Stars. I hope they will host a second show. I would like to see one held during the week, maybe a Tuesday night so that those of us that work weekends would be able to attend.s/Amy

Will speak at Slider Hall at Lindsey Wilson College on new book, "All Guts and No Glory"

By Duane Bonifer
Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story

When 23-year-old Bill Elder was hired in 1965 to start a men's basketball program at Northeast State Junior College in Scottsboro, Ala., he was exited about being a college basketball pioneer in the Appalachian community.

Elder became a pioneer at Northeast State, but it was a much more important kind: a civil rights trailblazer who integrated the school's intercollegiate athletics program.
