Festival dance had cars lined from square to schools Photos accompany this article By Ed Waggener It will be remembered as a turnaround event for Columbia for years to come. Downtown Days would have been a huge success without "Dancing with the Stars," but with it, the two days of fall fun made it spectacular. It took everybody by surprise, especially Rhonda Loy, who, with Sonya Roy, Gina Campbell, Chasity Yarberry, and Jada Coomer headed the Renaissance Columbia organizers of the event. "I expected 150 people," she said. "I freaked when I saw the crowd and knew I had to get out in front of that many people. It was like the nervousness I always had when I was in the band." But she couldn't have done better. Mayor Pat Bell said. "Rhonda is now our Events Planner. "I saw her lead. I saw her communicate. I saw her solve problems. She kept things going." Rhonda is an employee at City Hall, so the Mayor knows her on a day to day basis. Sara Hargis, Frank Holloway, new admissions counselors at LWC Sara Hargis and Frank Holloway both know what Lindsey Wilson College has to offer prospective students: they are both graduates of the college. The two LWC alumni were recently named admissions counselors. Hargis and Holloway said that their experiences as students at the college will benefit them greatly in their new jobs. The Russell County Mighty Laker Band placed 3rd and the Taylor County Band was 5th. They will also be heading to Louisville for the State Semi-Finals Competition on Saturday. Adair Marching Band has highest score in West Regional Band tops 13 others at Bowling Green. State starts on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Papa John's Stadium in Louisville Photos, link with this story The Adair County Marching Band won the Class AAA West Regional this past Saturday at Warren East High School in Bowling Green. Adair County had the highest score of all 14 bands and received a Distinguished Rating. Adair County will now advance to the Semi-Finals to be held in Louisville this Saturday, October 20, 2007. The top 8 bands from the AAA East and AAA West Regional will compete head to head in the Semi-Finals which will be held at Eastern High School.
