Letter: Rocky Hill RD resident displeased with detour To the editor, CM: I would like to voice displeasure with the state highway department in Somerset over closing Pelham Branch Road and not leaving an alternate route thru for local traffic. My wife and I work out of the county each day and now will have to each drive an additional 20-25 miles every day due to the road closing. I think it was poorly thought out and without any consideration for the people in our locale that use the road. Adair County Deputy Sheriff makes drug arrest On Wednesday, September 12, 2007, the Adair County Sheriff's department stopped a vehicle 8 miles east of Columbia on KY 80. As a result of that stop, 25 year old Ashley Bell Brown of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with no seat belt, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and prescription drug not in proper container. Letter: Writer thinks better detour for PB Rd needed b>Ed or Linda: Please allow me to use this forum to express my concern about the road closing on Pelham Branch. It was announced last week that a detour would be available during the month of continued construction of the bypass. What wasn't made clear was that the detour seems to be routing drivers all the way to highway 55 (Campbellsville Road.)
