Lanny Tucker publishes Green County history The book was printed by South Central Printers, Columbia, KY, one of Kentucky's foremost printers of works by local authors. President Ralph Waggener was extremely proud of the cover on this book. "I believe it may be the most beautiful one we've ever printed," he said. 5 BAVFD Firemen assist Burkesville FD battling barn fire Blaze Saturday afternoon in woodland, barn. By Brandon Harvey Five B.A.V.F.D. firemen responded to Peg Garmen Road in Cumberland County to assist the Burkesville Fire Department in combating a large barn and woodland fire. Peg Garmen Road is located off the old Kentucky 61 South, 4 miles from the Adair/Cumberland County Line. The call came in Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:27pm. Firemen were on the scene for an hour and fifteen minutes. Other firemen stood by at the station for a call. Four taken to hospital following head-on collision A head-on collision Sunday afternoon, at 2:36pm, on KY 49 1 mile north of Loretto, KY in Marion County, resulted in four people being taken to hospital. The fifth occupant refused treatment. Cynthia Norris, 22, Westlake, OH, was operating a 2000 Toyota southbound on KY 49 and applied brakes and began to skid into the path of 1992 Cadillac, northbound on KY 49, operated by Janice Jones, 70, Loretto, with a head-on collision resulting.
