STEVE LEMMON displays his completely customized 1952 Chevrolet Coupe in front of the Bank of Columbia . Besides the obvious grill, bumper, and trim changes, the car also sports power. There's a 1979 350hp V8 under the hood, nearly four times the power of the original 92 HP inline six cylinder installed at the factory. Lemmon is originally from Adair County, but now lives in Russell Springs. He was early to the show. Green River Krusers' Terry Farris said that he was surprised at the large number of exhibitors who came before the 4:00pm start time, saying, "If this is any indication, we should fill up the Square." The weather is feels more comfortable, with a good breeze making the high 80s temperature feel much cooler.

That was a nice photograph of the three young men from northeastern Adair County. My second cousin, Mattie Lou Sinclair Neat, may be able to identify the bridge where the photograph was made.

Adair County Band at Lake Cumberland Invitational today

Adair County High School, carrying Kentucky's greatest marching band tradition, will compete in the Lake Cumberland Marching Band Invitational, today at Russell County High School.

The competition gets underway at 12:45 pm CT, at the school, located between Russell Springs and Jamestown on US 127. Other bands competing are Barren County, Glasgow, Marion County, Madison Southern, Warren Central

Adair County High graduate Andy Critz, the son of George and Doris Critz, Columiba, KY, is in his first season as Russell County Laker Band Director. The Mighty Laker Band will perform, but will not compete, in the evening.

State Campus Safety report is now public

The Governors Task Force on Campus Safety, appointed by Governor Ernie Fletcher in late 2006, has released a report with its recommendations for enhancing safety at Kentuckys colleges and universities.

LWC Soccer women cruise to 6-0 win over Mobile

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA -- Six different Lindsey Wilson College womens soccer players scored as the Blue Raiders beat University of Mobile (Ala.) 6-0 at the Covenant (Ga.) College Classic.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Caitlin Burke scored her first career goal in the 17th minute to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead. Freshman Anne Houliston scored at the 27:41 mark to give Lindsey Wilson a 2-0 lead.<

LWC Soccer Men score 7-0 win over Union (TN)

Lindsey Wilson College senior midfielder Ryan Stewart scored three goals as the Blue Raider mens soccer team beat visiting Union (TN) University 7-0 tonight at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Stewart scored the only goal of the first half at the 25:15 mark off a free kick from just outside the penalty area.

2007 MS Walk at Christian Life Center, Saturday
The 2007 MS Walk will take place this year at The Christian Life Center Saturday morning, September 8th. This event has grown every year with more people getting on the band wagon. We're expecting a big turn out. Registration starts at 8:00am CT, and the walk begins at 9:00am CT. Lynda McKinnley, Adair County Coordinator, would like to invite everyone to join in with us Saturday and help make this the best year ever! More and more families have been affected by this disease. A $75 donation will make you eligible for a nice MS WALK T-shirt. Last year we raised $16,654. This year we want to beat it and working together we can make it happen.
