Parks & Recreation did not meet September 6, 2007

Because a quorum was not present, the Columbia Parks & Recreation Board meeting scheduled for last night, Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 7:00pm, was not held. Chairman Charles Grimsley said that the board will meet at it's next regularly scheduled date of Thursday, September 20, 2007, at 7:00pm.
About your Columbia Parks & Recreation Board: The five-member board meets twice each month, on the first and third Thursdays, at 7:00pm CT, in the Council Meeting Room, City Hall, 116 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. The hills on both sides of the bridge make it the Neatsville bridge. There are no hills to the south between the Pellyton bridge and the Green River.

That picture was taken a long time before I was born, But I believe its on the Barnetts Creek Bridge in Pellyton.

Unsigned, but subject worth looking into

8 BAVFD firemen battle a 3 acre grass, woodland fire

Dry weather, windy conditions make situation dangerous

The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department responded to a three acre grass and woodland fire on Olk England Road in the Sparksville Community at 11:26am CT yesterday morning, Thursday, September 6, 2007.

It was the fourth fire in two days for the BAVFD, who were called out three times on Wednesday.

Kruzers last 07 monthly cruise-in on Square is Sat., Sept 8th

It's been a huge year for the Green River Kruzers Car Club. The club will offer a season finale of its monthly Cruise-Ins tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, September 8, 2007, starting at 4:00pm CT, on the Square in Columbia, and they're hoping for the season's best turn-out of spectators and exhibitors.

Dean Quinn, a spokesman for the GRK, expects 80 cars or more to fill the Square tomorrow.

But Taylor County edges Adair by one stroke in 4-way play; Breeding fires 1 under par

The Adair County Boys Golf team defeated Green County and Campbellsville, but were edged by Taylor County in a quad match at Campbellsville Country Club, yesterday, Thursday, September 6, 2007.

Charles Breeding lead the way for ACHS firing a 1 under par, 36.

LWC Golf Open Seasons at Cumberlands

LWC women atop leaderboard; men in second; Carlos Navarro tied for first place for men; Krista Burton in second place; play resumes this morning at Crooked Creek

LONDON, KY -- The Lindsey Wilson College mens and womens golf teams opened the fall season today at the University of the Cumberlands Fall Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Community.

The Blue Raider women sit atop the seven-team leaderboard with a first round team-total of 326. The LWC men are in fourth after round one with a team-total of 299.

Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church of the Pellyton Community will be having a srap iron drive on Thursday, September 6, 2007, and Friday, September 7, 2007 from 8:00am to 8:00pm CT. Anyone interested in donating scrap such as appliances, old car batteries, iron of any type, metal sheeting etc., may bring items to the church yard on these days and they will be hauled to the proper location.
