Adair, Green, Taylor Counties jobless rate jumps in July ColumbiaMagazine.com story Taylor, Adair, and Green, in that order, had spikes in unemployment in July which went counter to the state trend for July, the latest reporting period from the Kentucky Education Cabinet's Office of Employment and Training. Taylor County's unemployment jumped 1.2%, Green and Adair, 0.7% for the month. Adair County's workforce stood at 8,971 in July, third highest, after Pulaski (27,506) and Taylor(13,883) in the 10 county Lake Cumberland Area Development District. Bryant's Snackin Shack honored by Edmonton chamber Bryant's Snackin' Schack, located at 3800 Greensburg Road, US 68 East of Edmonton, KY, was honored with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 1, 2007. The ceremony was part of a grand opening for the restaurant, which is operated by Adair Countians Mike and Alveline Bryant and their son Kevin. The business was formerly known as the Country Deli. Clinton cyclist injured in collision with car A Clinton County motorcyclist, George H. Butler, 47, Albany, suffered following a collision with an automobile he tried to pass. The accident occurred Saturday, September 1, 2007, at 5:16pm, five miles east of Albany on KY 558. Butler, who was not wearing a helmet, was treated and released for minor injuries at the Clinton County Hospital in Albany, KY.
