LWC students will return to cooler, wireless campus

$725,124 James Graham Brown Foundation grant allows college to renevate Horton Complex; A.P. White Campus has become wireless over the summer

By Duane Bonifer, Director, LWC Public Affairs
When Lindsey Wilson College students return to campus this weekend, they will return to a cooler and wireless one.

It will be cooler because the final college residence hall received air-conditioning. An HVAC heating, ventilation and air-conditioning unit was installed in Horton Complex, making the 137-student, two-building complex the final LWC residence hall to be air-conditioned.

That should make move-in day about 35 degrees cooler for this year's freshmen and their families.

District 1 is vacant until the November 6, 2007 election results are certified or Gov. Fletcher appoints an interim Magistrate to fill out the unexpired term of Magistrate Roger Stephens, who resigned.

Judge Ann Melton presided, at the meeting, which was highlighted by an executive session to settle the appeal over the firing of Adair County Deputy Jailer Tim Bradshaw (Separate CM story), and a detailed presentation of the status of the Adair County Search and Rescue (SAR) Team by Emergency Management Director Greg Thomas (Separate story).
