COMMENT: AC Flames, you are awesome athletes

"You have earned your community's respect and your Little League Chapter should be proud of you. . . Be strong and courageous, and keep on saying those prayers."

Well done AC FLAMES, you are some awesome girls. You have represented us well. Your post season record of 7-2 is something to be proud of. Even though the last loss was bad you still outscored your opposition 108 to 31.

Program needs money now. Won't you help? Our goal is reducing injuries and death. The message we are trying to promote is ATV's are dangerous to operate and you should always wear a helmet. Our goal is to make sure every child Adair County ATV has the protection of a helmet

By Rick Wilson
The program for free helmets is going great. It is obvious Adair County folks are concerned about head injuries in ATV crashes.

I have received around 112 request for free helmets at this point. We originally had funds appropriated for 20 helmets.

re: Mystery Plant Photo

If your plant has thick glossy leaves I believe the common name is stonecrop. There is also a variety that has reddish-colored leaves.

s/Linda Lewis
Thanks. That was quick! If other readers have additional comments on the plant's origin in Adair County, its uses, or other interesting stories, the information is welcome. -ED

Feedback: Concern over Garrard-Mercer bridge

To the editor, CM:
I live on Herrington Lake very close to the KY 152 Herrington Lake at Garrard-Mercer county line bridge. I have a lot of concern about the bridge as it went from 10 ton to 3 ton overnight. Who is going to control what is crossing the bridge? There are boats and trucks that weigh a lot more than three tons.s/Howard Gilvin
