The Adair Flames lost their first game to Illinois 2-0. The Flame bats were silent even as the Flame pitching did their job to hold Illinois to two unearned runs. Meredith Corbin and Chelsea Sampson held the Illinois team to one hit. Corbin had the lone Flame hit, a single to right field. Gov. Fletcher orders safety measures for Kentucky bridges Thirty eight bridges have issues. Most in Jefferson. None in Adair or surrounding counties. Special ColumbiaMagazine edit of Commonwealth News Center basic information Following Governor Ernie Fletcher's directive, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is taking immediate steps to ensure the safety and structural integrity of Kentucky bridges. The Governor issued the mandate to the KYTC following the tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis on Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Thirty-eight bridges in the commonwealth are listed as having issues. Eleven of these are in Jefferson County, four are in Franklin. None are in Adair or surrounding counties. The closest bridge with issues in Boyle County over Lake Herrington (Dix River) at the Garrard Boyle County Line. It is on KY 3042. AC Flames have arrived in Akron! By Gerald Reliford The Kentucky reps AC Flames have arrived in Akron. Attending a pre-tournament banquet and Celebretion on Friday night, they were intoduced along with the other nine teams. Interesting enough, all of the 10 teams are from rural or small town areas of their respective states. From the looks of things at this point, the teams seem to be very evenly matched and it should be a wide open tournament that any team could win.
