Another confirmation it is a wolf spider

Ed:

This appears to be a wolf spider. According to World Book Encyclopedia 2007 Edition, wolf spiders are large and hairy. They also take better care of their young than any other kinds of spiders.

s/Lee Ann Jessee, Adair County Public Library Director.
Thanks. No one in their right mind would argue with the findings of the ACPL, much less the World Book. - Ed. - ED

It is a wolf spider, Devin Feese reports

Shamarie's spider, despite fierce countenance, can be handy, references say
To the editor, CM:

I'm certain that is a wolf spider. The individual species of a wolf spider is hard to determine even for the experts, but from comparing the picture with examples on this website Wolf Spiders, at the University of Kentucky Entomology Department, it looks like it comes from the genus Hogna.

There are tons of varieties with several living in Kentucky. Interesting fact is that they were know and named wolf spiders prior to 350 B.C. as Aristotle mentioned the "wolf spider' in his History of Animals written at that time.More information on things that creep and crawl can be found here Kentucky Critter Filess/Devin Feese
