Attention 16- and 17-year old driving age students and parents A MESSAGE FROM BRENDA MANN, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT The "No Pass/No Drive" law has been re-enacted The 2007 legislative session re-enacted the "No Pass/No Drive" Law (HB 32/KRS 159.051). Statewide implementation of this statute begins August 1, 2007 and involves sixteen and seventeen year old students in every public and private school district across Kentucky, including students being schooled at home. Pursuant to 601 KAR 13:070 before a sixteen or seventeen year old goes to the circuit clerk's office to obtain an instructional permit or license, a School Enrollment Verification form must be filled out by school personnel verifying the student is in compliance with the "No Pass/No Drive" Law. If the student is not complaint, a form will not be issued and the student will not be allowed to apply for a driving permit or license. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 1:00pm CT at New Hope Separate Baptist Church, with Bro. David Coffey and Rev. Timothy Dillingham officiating. Lucas Parnell recaptured after escape from cruiser Originally arrested on Saturday, July 21, he was recaptured in same area where escape occurred, four days later, after arresting officer finds him in loft of garage, and chases him on foot. Lucas Parnell, 28, 509 Weed-Sparksville Road, Columbia, KY, was arrested on July 25, 2007, at approximately 7:00pm on Grady Loop. KSP makes marijuana growing arrest On July 25, 2007, around 14:58 hrs (2:58pm) CT, Trooper B.J. Gov. Fletcher orders flags at half staff for KY marine FRANKFORT, Ky. Governor Ernie Fletcher has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff in honor of Lance Cpl. Robert A. Lynch. According to the Department of Defense, Lynch, 20, of Louisville, died July 24 while conducting combat operations in Diyala province, Iraq.
