Cyclist airlifted to UK following collison on US 127 The rider of a 2006 Harley motorcycle Larry W. Morrow, 54, Monticello, KY, was flown to UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY, following an accident on US Hwy 127, eight miles south of Jamestown, KY. The accident occurred at 12:20pm, Sunday, June 17, 2007. Shawnrey Brown, 31, Yosemite, was southbound on U.S. 127, in a Chevrolet, following a pickup truck which stopped suddenly and signaled to turn. Shawnrey Brown applied the brakes and steered into the northbound lane to avoid a collision and pulled into the path of the Morrow, ejecting the rider from his motorcycle. Brown was not injured, nor were passengers in the Brown vehicle, Savannah Brown, 8, David Brown 3, and Anthony Brown, 38, all of Yosemite. All occupants of the Brown vehicle were belted. 2007 Russell Creek Tractor Show: Biggest ever! Over a dozen photos, by Sean Hitchcock, Joe Hare, and Ed Waggener, accompany story By Sean Hitchcock MILLTOWN, KY. Hundreds of people from all around Kentucky brought their tractors and families to Adair County Saturday, June 16, to enjoy the 2007 Russell Creek Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Show held at Garrison Construction Company. A record of 141 entries dating back to 1927 were on display at this years eleventh annual event that included a tractor parade, freshly made food, and a little friendly competition. The weather was perfect for the event, with a gentle breeze and mostly 70's temperatures. The crowd was estimated at 400-500; over 200 visitor cars were parked in lots around the Garrison Construction grounds, residences, and farm land. The complex has more the appearance of Kentucky State Park than a building contractor's headquarters. Kids learn about nature, forest fires, fire safety at DU event Kids get expert training from Kentucky Forest Rangers, Ducks Unlimited personnel, and Adair Sportsman's Club members 11 Photos by Sean Hitchcock and Joe Hare accompany this article By Sean Hitchcock Parents from around the region brought their children to the Adair County Sportsman's Club Saturday, June 16, 2007, to experience and learn about outdoor sports and safety at the seventh annual Ducks Unlimited Kid's Day. Children of all ages spent Saturday morning participating in fishing, archery and target-shooting activities before feasting on pizza and hot dogs before leaving. Along with the Ducks Unlimited staff giving lessons on outdoor sports and gun safety, Kentucky Forest Rangers were also on hand to teach children lessons about nature, forest fires and fire safety.
