CU students winners at Phi Beta Lambda State competition

Twelve students represented Campbellsville University at the 2007 Phi Beta Lambda state competition in Louisville, KY, recently. CU garnered four first place awards, five second place awards and one third place award.

KSP Post 15 participates in big Marion drug bust

On Monday June 4, 2007 KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations West; KSP Drug Task Force, Columbia KSP Post 15, Marion County Sheriff's Department, and Lebanon Police Department conducted a drug roundup In Marion County.

The investigating officer was KSP Drug Force Detective Byron Richardson.Fourteen different suspects were arrested on various drug charges.

Feedback: More fond memories of wonderful teacher

I have to agree with the comments made about Mrs. Lois Smith.

I had the pleasure of having her as a teacher at Knifley.

Some of my fondest school memories are of her. She taught us so much more than Math, and English.

In last night's Adair County Fiscal Court meeting, the court was given a report from Lenny Stone, General Manager of the Adair County Water District, who told the Magistrates the county water system is having to perform a daily balancing act, "borrowing from Peter to pay Paul" with water supplies during the dry season, but that so far the system has met all demands.

Vehicle catches fire, driver injured, in Metcalfe accident

An Crail Hope man, Lawrence K. Thompson, 32, was admitted to TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow following an accident yesterday afternoon three miles south of Edmonton, KY on KY 533.

The accident occurred on Tuesday, June 5, at 1:53pm CT.

Thompson was traveling south on KY 533 in a 2003 Chevy trailblazer. He entered a curve, met a vehicle on his side of roadway, overcorrected, went over an embankment, and the vehicle caught fire.

Trooper Brooks of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, investigated the accident.
