Columbia man airlifted to UK Medical Center after incident at jail An arrest yesterday afternoon was followed by an assault on a police officer and an altercation, according to a KSP report, which resulted in Billy Phillips, 53, Columbia, KY, being transported from the Adair County Regional Jail to the Westlake Regional Hospital helipad, then to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY, via helicopter. At approximately 4:31pm, Kentucky State Police Trooper BJ Burton arrested Phillips on East 80 near the Adair/Russell County line. Phillips was charged with DUI 1st.
