By the time the last embers were extinguished, 165 people were killed and 200 injured in one of the nation's worst fire disasters. Kentucky's unemployment rate drops in April 2007 By Kim S. Brannock, ky.gov FRANKFORT, KY (May 23, 2007) - Kentucky's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 5.4 percent in March 2007 to 5.3 percent in April 2007, its lowest point since December 2004, according to the Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education Cabinet. April 2007's jobless rate also was below April 2006's rate of 5.8 percent. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate increased from 4.4 percent in March 2007 to 4.5 percent in April 2007, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. ACRD maintenance: Chickadee RD gets new blacktop today The Adair County Road Department, will be working in the following areas today, Wednesday, May 23, 2007: District 5: Lonnie Page, Terry Williams, Gary Samuells, Tom Brock, and Donnie Nelson will digging up , hauling dirt, and hauling gravel back onto the Tom Lewis Road in which is Keltnertown Road. Please be prepared to have to wait if traveling on this road. District 7:Adair County Road Foreman Jobe Darnell will be with Gaddie Shamrock as they blacktop in on the Chickadee Road, which is off Bull Run Road. District 6: 1) Billy Cowan and Tony Denton will be mowing in the Knifley area. 2) Phillip Carter will be using the sidemower on the Boat Ramp Road.
