Cyclist loses control in curve, overturns, strikes railroad tie A one-vehicle motorcycle accident occurred this afternoon, Monday, May 21, 207, at 2:10pm CT, six miles east of Russell Springs on Clearfork Road. Walter L. cleveland, Jr., 45, Russell Springs, was operating a 1986 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Clearfork Road when he lost control in a curve, left the roadway before overturning and striking a railroad tie. Cleveland was airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment. No helmet was in use. The accident was investigated by Trooper J. Adair Co. may have higher vote Tuesday for many reasons Vote is important. Adair County has more at stake than ever before. Governor's popularity and his heavy investment in county, presence of local candidates Jody Richards for Governor, Jeff Hoover for lieutenant governor, may spur higher turnout here than in other parts of the state. If absentee voting is any indicator, the vote is likely to be less than 20%. Some, including Secretary of State Trey Grayson, are predicting an even lower turnout, with the turnout being less than 15%. Adair votes in 16 precincts, at 12 locations on Tuesday Adair County voters will be voting in 16 different precincts, but will go to only 12 locations. The polls are open Tuesday, May 22, 2007, from 6:00am until 6:00pm for the primary election. Two precincts each vote four of the locations. Absentee voting machines open for last day Absentee voting so far has reached less than one-fifth of 2006 total, Clerk Sheila Blair says. But if Secretary of State Trey Grayson had his way, voting of absent ballot could dramatically increase. He'd make it far less restrictive.
