State does big computer upgrade in office of Clerk Sheila Blair

Governor Fletcher committed to technology upgrade, KYTC Secretary Nighbert says. Adair County Clerk Sheila Blair's office is getting smart new Dell terminals to replace devices installed quarter century ago. Clunky old monitors no longer rob busy office of counter space

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has been making technology upgrades in Adair County County Clerk Sheila Blair's Office in Adair County this week. It's a program Governor Ernie Fletcher has a personal interest in the project, Transportation Cabinet Secretary Bill Nighbert said.

Its hard to imagine, but in some counties this old computer equipment has been in use for about a quarter of a century, Secretary Nighbert said, adding, Governor Fletchers commitment to this project has made the system upgrades possible. The county clerks desperately need new equipment so they can do their jobs more efficiently.

Gerald Hadley, Columbia, KY, received his Master's Degree from Campbellsville University Friday evening May 4, 2007. As he was lining up in front of the new Ransdell Chapel where the ceremony was being held, he was joined by his wife Tina and their son Lucas, 9. Library Board meeting rescheduled to May 21, 2007

The Adair County Public Library Board meeting has been changed from it's regular date for the month of May. The Library Board will met May 21st at 12:05 at the library.

Detective Israel Slinker seeks information on Green burglary

On May 2, 2007 two white males, driving a black 2 door passenger car with tinted windows, approached a 91 year old male and confronted him outside his residence in the Allendale community in Green Coutny. One male suspect stated he was there to save him money on his utilities while the other male remained in the vehice and out of sight. The victim asked the suspect to leave and the suspect entered the residence and distracted him while the second suspect entered the residence and removed property. Starting at 7:00am CT: Annual RoL Community Yard Sale
The annual Relay for Life Community yard sale will be held this Saturday May 12th from 7:00am till 1:00pm at the Adair County Fairgrounds. Relay teams will be set up selling numerous yard sale and fund raising items. There will also be various yard sales around the community with proceeds going to benefit Relay For Life. The Lindsey Wilson community will hold the college's 85th commencement exercises for the spring portion of its Class of 2007 at 10am CT, on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Biggers Sports Center. Lindsey Wilson will confer a total of 182 graduate and undergraduate degrees at the May 12 ceremony, concluding the largest graduating class in the college's 104-year history.

You can help by placing your food donation in your mailbox on Saturday, May 12, 2007, before your mail carrier arrives.
