Feedback: Grosbeaks may be just passing through here To the editor, ColumbiaMagazine.com I believe the bird Ms. Grant is holding is a rose breasted grosbeak, not a blackbird. My feeders have been invaded by them this past week. The bird book says they winter south of here and summer up north. I'm wondering if these guys are just passing through, since there seem to be so many of them all of the sudden--both the bright males (like the little guy Ms. Grant is holding) and the brown females. Susie Grant nows knows what it's like to hold a wild bird And she can now gloat.
