Spring native plant sale April 28 at Salato Center The annual spring sale of native Kentucky wildflowers will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources' Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort, KY. From 9am to 4pm ET, the public can choose from over 100 species of plants, including favorites like the cardinal flower, wild bergamot, dwarf crested iris, purple coneflower, black-eyed Susan, wild columbine and many more. Many of these plants are not available at commercial nurseries. All plants are priced at $5 to $6 apiece. LWC softball team wins doubleheader today By Chris Wells, LWC sports information director The Lindsey Wilson College softball team swept a doubleheader today, Saturday, April 21, 2007, with Mid-South Conference foe West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, WV. The Blue Raiders (24-15, 13-5 in the Mid-South) won 16-1 and 23-0 in the two games. City Police make bootlegging arrest on Parrott AVE A Columbia man was arrested last night, Friday, April 20, 2007, by Columbia Police on a bootlegging charge. Michael L. Smith, 46, was arrested on Parrott Avenue and charged with illegal sale alcohol in a dry territory, 2nd offense. Police also confiscated 165 cans of beer, 13 pints of liquor, and $79.20 in cash. The arrest was made by Columbia Police Officer Gary Roy along with Officer Terry Flatt. Turning attempt results in injuries to two A two-vehicle accident on KY 208, 11 miles south of Lebanon, KY, resulted in injuries to a passenger. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, April 20, 2007, at 2:00pm. John Ruby, 41, Louisville, KY, was operating a southbound 2004 GMC and attempted to turn into a parking lot, and turned into the path of a 1998 Hyundai, operated by Jennifer Berry, 30, Campbellsville, KY. Both Ruby and a passenger, Josefina Ruby, 42, Louisville, KY, were belted and not injured. Jennifer Berry and a passenger, Danielle Louthan, 27, Campbellsville, KY, were both treated and released at Taylor County Regional Hospital, Campbellsville. Both had seat belts in use.
