Feedback: What makes great things possible

"Girls softball teams made grant money available to our park"
Hi Ed & Linda!

I just wanted to make a comment about the new Little League Concession Stand that is being constructed.

Although it has been two years since our girls softball teams took the State Championship and State 1st Runner Up, they can always remember the wonderful job they did and how proud everyone is of them. Due to their acheiving huge goals, the grant money was made available to our park.

It is the talented players, supportive parents, dedicated volunteers and the community that makes great things possible!

Shannon

Adair Headstart leads PRIDE campaign

2007-04-19 - Joe Johnson Little League Park, Doc Walker Road, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. PRIDE clean-up at Little League Park: Classes led by Ms. Shannon, Ms. Juanita, and Ms. Amy of the Adair County Headstart went to Joe Johnson Little League Park this morning, where they were met and encouraged by Mayor Pat Bell, before they attacked the litter at the park, in preparation for the big 100 Innings of Baseball open house. Above, just part of the crew. There's no chance of a failure with PRIDE spring clean-up this year if adult volunteers show half the enthusiam this group did.

Feedback: Bear poem by B.J. Fudge reminder of anecdote

To the editor, CM

Reminds me of an April Fool joke my wife played on me many years ago. I had just gotten into chasing my family history (genealogy) and was eager to make contact with anyone else in the family. She called me at work and said someone had called the house with some information. She gave me his number and said his name was "Mr. Bear." I immediately called the number, not paying much attention to the initial response, and asked for Mr. Bear. The kind lady (kinder than my wife) said, "Sir, this is the Dallas Zoo. Mr. Bear can't speak to you today."Doug McCammish
