Schools have new P- & K- registration dates Assistant Adair County School Superintendent Brenda Mann has released an update on pre-school and kindergarten registration. The following information, released on Monday, April 16, 2007, supersedes all previous information:Kindergarten registration will be at Col. Wm. Casey only. The dates are Friday May 11, 2007, and the following Friday, May 18, 2007. The time will be 8am-2pm CT, both days. All eligible children, last names A-Z, can register either day. The kindergarten child does not have to be present. Pre-school registration will be at Adair County Elementary School only. Pre-school children must be present on the day of registration. Dislodged feed boom swings loose; accident results A feed boom came dislodged from a 1994 Dodge feed truck and swung into the patch of a 2000 Kenworth dump, resulting in an injury accident. The incident occurred at 1:35pm, today, Monday, April 16, 2007, on KY 55, three miles south of Columbia. Coy Turner, Jr, 32, Columbia, was northbound on KY 55 when the boom on his feed truck swung into the path of a 2000 Kenworth dump truck, operated by Mark Holt, 34, Russell Springs, KY, causing Holt to loste control of his vehicle. Holt, who was not belted, was treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. Turner was belted and not injured. Allene Sneed, 84, member Jones Chapel UMC Mrs. Sneed was a member of a large, respected Western Adair County family Allene Sneed, 84, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, formerly of the Gradyville community, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Summit Manor after a long illness. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Larry Brown and Bro. Willard Parson officiating. Interment will be in Jones Chaepl Cemetery. The NAIA No. 3-ranked Blue Raiders lead following the first round with a team-total of 327 over the 5,908-yard, par 72 Ironwood track. Lindsey Wilson shot a team-total of 319 on Sunday to secure the victory. The Blue Raiders shot a team-total of 646 over the two-day tournament to win by eight strokes.
