CU to present spring ensemble concert

The Campbellsville University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. David M. McCullough, director of bands, will present its spring concert Monday, April 16, 2007 at 8pmED/7pmCT at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

"This program will feature some of the greatest works of the wind band repertoire and should offer an exciting concert experience for audience and performers alike," McCullough said.

Adair County Middle School Cheerleaders at banquet

The Adair Co. Middle School Cheerleaders Banquet was held April 1st at Brooke & Bucks in Russell Springs. The cheerleaders enjoyed a good meal and were presented trophies by their coaches Jamie McQueary and Sommer Brown. The A.C.M.S. Russell, Cumberland included in reverse 911 test

Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security have announced that a new emergency notification 9-1-1 system, commonly referred to as "Reverse 9-1-1," will be tested in Clinton, Cumberland, Russell and Monroe Counties, during the next two weeks. The system will serve as a means of communicating with the public during a potential emergency involving the Wolf Creek Dam.

This week's test will disseminate an automated message to random subsets of numbers from the four county area concluding in a full scale test message to all residents. Approximately 17,000 households will be contacted during the test period.

Tonight is last chance to see Princess and the Pea

Children are getting a last chance step into the world of Majestica tonight when the Lindsey Wilson College "Introduction to Theater" class performs the stage adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's classic The Princess and the Pea.

Tonight is the last chance to see the play. The play has been performed 9 times already this week at Trinity United Methodist Church's William Davenport Family Life Center, 2418 Campbellsville Road. Daily performances on Tuesday-Thursday will be at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. CDT. An everning performance will be held at 7pm. CT on Thursday. Admission is $1 per person.

Directed by Lindsey Wilson Associate Professor of Communication Susan K. Minton, The Princess and the Pea brings the action-packed, fast-paced story of the quest for true love and the struggle of good versus evil to life.

This event is also a Chamber of Commerce event, and tickets are required.

LPC forum, special school board meeting The Adair County Schools Local Planning Committee (LPC) will hold a public forum on facilities Thursday, April 12, 2007, at 6:00pm in the Board of Education Conference Room. The committee will meet following this forum. A Special Called School Board Meeting will follow at approximately 7:00pm CT. The purpose of this meeting is for the Board to consider the recommendations of the Local Planning Committee. Cloverbuds at JAIS There will be a 4-H Cloverbuds meeting on Thursday, April 12 at 6:00pm CT. It will be held at John Adair Intermediate school. Cloverbuds is open to any youth ages 5-8 years old. - TONY ROSE

Columbia-AC Water Commission The Columbia-Adair County Water Commission holds Regular Second Thursday monthly meeting at the Adair County Water District office conference room on Grant Lane off the Campbellsville RD. Commission Chairman Rudy Higginbotham, Commissioners Robert Flowers, Junior Brown, June Parson, and Larry Legg. This commission is the governing body for the jointly operated Columbia-Adair County Water Plant now under construction.
