Bank of Columbia Relay team will hold Corn Toss

The Bank Of Columbia Relay For Life Team would like to invite everyone to participate in our 1st ever "Corn Toss" Tournament.

This entertaining event will take place Saturday, April 21st at 6:00 pm at the Christian Life Center. There will be a $20 per couple charge and the competition will be double-elimination.

You may pre-register at our Jamestown Street branch.

are ready for the crowd expected to start pouring in to the V.F.W Hall on Fairground Street in a little over one hour. Music by Sam Tucker's Pure Country Band will start at 5:30pm CT and food will be served at 6:00pm CT, followed by the political speaking. Feese said he got the idea for the sign last night and painted it after that. After tonight, it will be moved to Feese's yard on East 80. Speaker Jody Richards, an Adair County native and graduate of Adair County High School is considered a front runner for the Democratic nomination for Governor this year. Richards is the longest serving Speaker of the House in Kentucky history, and is expected to handily win the county in the primary. "This is free and it is for everybody," Feese said, "regardless of party affiliation. We may never get a chance to elect an Adair Countian Governor of the State of Kentucky in a long, long time," he said. "This is the greatest opportunity really help Adair County that any of us may ever have."

CU School of Business receives professional accreditation

President Carter expects new accreditation, coupled with online MBA program, to have strong impact on enrollment at Campbellsville University's School of Business and Economics

Campbellsville University has received specialized accreditation for its business and business-related programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) of Olathe, KS.

The degree programs accredited by the IACBE are the bachelor of science degrees in accounting, administrative technology, business administration, computer information systems, economics, management, marketing and organizational management as well as the bachelor of science in business administration degree.

All Adair County offices will be closed for Good Friday, April 6, 2007. Danny will be retiring on Friday, March30, 2007 with 39 plus years with the USDA, Farm Service Agency. At thepresent time Danny is the Farm Loan Manager in Adair, Russell and GreenCounties.

East 80 Percussion performs tonight at ACMS at 7pmCT

Thursday night, March 29, 2007,at 7:00pm CT, in the Adair County Middle School Gym)East 80 Percussion, made up of kids from Adair, Russell, Taylor, Hart,Garrard, and Clark Counties as well as UK, Morehead, and CampbellsvilleUniversity.It is directed by Doug Neal of Columbia and staff, Chad Floyd and Seth Whitaker, both from CU.

It is a fund raisingevent for money to go to the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH inApril. "WGI" is Winter Guard International, "The Sport of the Arts."

Last weekend the group placed 2nd in the Nashville regional withgroups from all over the southeast, Missouri, Michigan and several otherstates.-MELLA DEAN ALLEN.

P&Z approves zoning change for new florist

P&Z board action moves Radius Brown's Crossroads Florist and Gift Shop nearer to reality. Roy Rademacher speaks change, opposing it as spot zoning, but P&Z unanimously approves change

There were opposing sides in Radius Brown's request for a zoning change at 215 Westwood Drive at the P&Z hearing last night, but Brown won approval from the panel in a sessions which lasted only 10 minutes.

The P&Z approved the request and authorized Chairman Joe Flowers to send a letter to the Columbia City Council recommending that 215 Westwood Drive be changed from R-1 Low Density Residential to C-2 Highway Commercial.
