Feedback: Correcting record for 1992 ACHS girls

ACHS Girls went to State in 1992; won first game
To the editor, CM:

I don't know if you were talking strictly boys basketball, but the ACHS girls team of 1992 made it to the state tournament. They were coached by Kim Goodin and Steve Martin. They won their first round game (can't recall the opponent) and lost the second round game on a last second shot.

New to cycling road races? Here's some tips for Saturday

(Watching a USA Cycling national event will be new to a lot of people along the race course in Adair County when the Green River Road Race comes here on Saturday, March 17, 2007. Mike Hewitt has sent this article on what to expect of the riders, what cycling competitors hope will be the courtesies extended them. -ED)

By Mike Hewitt

For this type of race, riders really like it when people come out from their houses and cheer as they ride by. Ringing cow bells as riders pass is the latest spectator rage in cycling. Riders love attention so banners, flags or just cheering them on is a real boost.

On race courses like Green River, spectators like to watch riders climb the tough hills like the one near the finish. Cheering a rider up a tough climb can be a real boost when you feel like your legs are about to explode.

Jenifer Huff, cycling coach at LWC, had plans to write on the road with chalk like they do in Europe. I'm sure most of her's will be to cheer on the LW riders in the race.
