Circle R open this morning, Thursday, March 8, 2007 By Ed Waggener The Circle R Family Restaurant, a southeastern United States landmark, is open this morning, Thursday, March 8, 2007, at 5:00am CT with new owners amd many familiar Circle R staff, to greet breakfast customers. The new proprietors are David and Ingrid Hawkins, now of Holmes Bend Road, Columbia, KY. They are former Florida residents, originally from New Jersey. "The Garden State," Mr. Hawkins likes to remind people, telling them that fresh vegetables will again be an important part of the Circle R bill of fare, with the strong possibility that Circle R turnips will once more draw out-of-towners to Columbia if just for that one item, alone. The Hawkinses plan some additions to the menu, including a top line of steaks, with the possibility of a prime rib night once a week.
