County road crew starts Grassy Springs Bridge construction Governor's check received Friday. Tear-out complete. New bridge understruction by ACRD started today. With good weather, no higher priority emergencies, project could be complete in three weeks"The tear-out of the Grassy Springs Bridge is complete," Lisa Lee, Administrative Assistant to Judge Executive Ann Melton announced today. "The Adair County Road Department began building the bridge this morning."Judge Ann Melton said that, as promised, the check for $102,260 for the project was received in Friday's mail. Governor Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet made the emergency money available to Adair County for the bridge replacement over Sulphur Creek at McGaha on the Christine-Sano Road (CR 1013). Judge Melton apprised the Governor and Transportation Cabinet Secretary Bill Nighbert of the circumstances shortly after taking office this year. Holladay Place Super Wal-Mart should be open in 14 months. Company expects keys to store in February 2008. Mayor Bell says he is well pleased with development's aesthetics. Columbia Super Wal-Mart. The new big box retail store is scheduled for construction at Holladay Place, the mammoth center now being developed at the Louie B. Nunn/KY 61 interchange. KSP, Liberty Police, Russell SO, make burglary arrest On Tuesday, February 28, 2007, following an investigation, the Kentucky State Police, Columbia Post 15, and the Russell County Sheriff's Department, located 21 year old Dustin W. Cochran of Russell Springs in possession of several thousand dollars worth of stolen property belonging to his uncle, Stewart Cochran, Liberty, KY. Cochran was arrested and charged with burglary 2nd degree and theft by unlawful taking over $300. He was lodged in the Casey County Jail. Trooper Martin Wesley of Kentucky State Police 15, Columbia, KY, was assisted by Liberty Police Officer Harold Cochran and Russell County Deputy Sheriff Mike Sinclair. The investigation continues.
