Judge, Mayor proclaim Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week Adair County Judge-Executive Ann Melton and Columbia Mayor Pat Bell, Mayor, City of Columbia, signed a proclamation Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2007, at 1:30pm in the basement of the Adair Annex proclaiming the month of March 2007 as "Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week." Present for the ceremony were four whose family's have been affected by the disease: Lynda McKinley, Donna Feese, Kim Keltner, and Donna Green. Trash rate increase gets second reading, OK Rates will increase March 1. Utility bills will show increase on April 1 billing. Rate boost will swing department from $4-5 thousand a month loss to a like profit. Residences go from $10 to $13 per month, with similar increases up the chart. By Ed Waggener The Columbia City Council approved second reading to Ordinance No. 830.16 today, Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at 10:00am. The ordinance gives a fairly uniform percentage rate increase. Maps on display at March 8, 2007 meeting NASHVILLE, TN The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, will hold a public meeting in Russell Springs, KY, at the Russell County High School gymnasium, 2166 South Highway 127 on Thursday, March 8, 2007. Officials will try to answer the questions of residents concerning the recent announcement to lower the lake level at Wolf Creek Dam, in Russell County, KY, to 680 feet, in response to independent studies that have classified the dam as being high risk.
