Ann awards bridge tear-out to low bidder Earthworks of Kentucky has been awarded the contract for the tear out and haul off of the Grassy Springs Bridge on Sulphur Creek in the McGaha Community. Price: $2,900.00. Table of bids, link to photo included in story which follows Earthworks of Kentucky was the lowest of eight bids submitted for the tear-out of the Grassy Springs Bridge, and has been awarded the contract. Administrative Assistant Lisa Lee of Judge-Executive's office said a tentative start of the tear-out is Monday, February 26, 2007. "Judge Melton will announce the road closure and the alternate routes in enough time to give people a fair warning," she said. "So they can plan the best routes while the bridge is closed." Single vehicle injury accident occurs south of Russell Springs A one vehicle accident occurred at 6:10am today, Saturday, February 17, 2007, 6.6 miles south of Russell Springs, KY, on KY 379. Donald R. Turner, 61, Russell Springs, KY, was operating a 1997 Ford pickup, southbound on KY 379. The driver lost control, ran off the roadway, and overturned. No seatbelt was in use. The driver was treated at Russell County Hospital. The incident was investigated by Trooper Dewayne Holder, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY. Ice cause of injury accident this morning An injury accident occurred at 10:00am , February 17, 2007, 1.5 miles east of Middleburg, KY 1552. Nancy Randolph, 38, Middleburg, KY, was operating a 1988 Toyota pickup eastbound on KY 1552, when the vehicle hit a patch of ice and overturned. Randolph, who was belted, was treated and released at Casey County Hospital. Trooper Woodrum of Kentucky State Police Post 15 investigated the incident.
