Feedback: The reason Pleasant View is 'Mouth of Butler' To the editor: It's good to see a word from Cousin Charlotte in print! My grandmother said the reason Pleasant View Baptist Church was often referred to as "the Mouth of Butler Church" is because of the geographic location of the church. The church is located in close proximity where Butler Branch flows into Sulphur Creek. E.H. Columbian to be included in book on Kentucky heroes In David Hawpe's column on the editorial page of the Courier-Journal today, Sunday, February 11, 2007, Mr. Hawpe writes about a new book being written by Steve Flairty which will be entitled Kentucky's Everyday Heroes . . . Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things." One of the heroes, the column says, is Kendall Harvey of Columbia, KY, for his work building custom bicycles for kids with special needs. The article says that 143 people have bicycles because of the generosity of Kendall Harvey. CU will present Dr. Wesley Roberts discussing China By Andrew Stinson, CU student news writer Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, will be presenting a colloquium summarizing his experiences in China while he taught at the Shanghai Normal University in the fall 2006 semester. The colloquium will be at 4:00pm Monday, February 12, 2007 in Room 15 of the Administration Building on the campus of Campbellsville University. Roberts' presentation will include photographs and music from his sabbatical for the fall semester. The colloquium is free and the open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Driver intoxication cited in Saturday wreck John M. Grigsby, 44, Springfield, KY, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash on KY 152 three miles north of Springfield, KY. Grigsby was operating a 1988 Dodge pickup northbound on KY 152 and was unable to negotiate a a curve due to intoxication, according to the KSP report. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and came to a final rest in a yard. Grigsby, who did not have a seatbelt in use, refused treatment at Springview Hospital in Lebanon, KY. He was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center. Trooper Donnie Moses investigated the incident. Obituary: Sue Ann Cravens, 57, an exemplary life At too early an age, Sue Ann Cravens lost a courageous battle with cancer. She left a lasting impression on all who knew her, including her Cravens-Waggener family in Adair County. Her constant attention to the comfort of others made her the central figure in her close-knit family. The tribute which follows was written by her daughter, Shannon Cravens Barrick. Sue Ann Cravens, 57, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007. She was a long time resident of Greenwood, IN. The funeral services have been changed to Thursday, February 15, 2007, because of the winter storm (previously announced: Tuesday, February 13, 2007), at 11:00am, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 306 Howard Road, Greenwood, IN. Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2007, from 3:00-8:00pm ET, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, in Greenwood, IN. The daughter of Roy and Carolyn (Flinn) Hibner, she was born July 27, 1949 in Indianapolis. She attended the Lutheran Parochial School prior to graduating from Southport High School in 1967.
