Request to bid: Grassy Springs Bridge PUBLIC NOTICE The Adair County Fiscal Court will be accepting bids for the tear out/haul off of the Grassy Springs Bridge on Grassy Springs Road. Directions take Hwy 206 to Christine-Sano Road; end at the Old Schoolhouse turn left, Grassy Springs Road is the first road to the left. We will meet at the Grassy Springs Bridge on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 10:00 p.m (CST) for a pre-bid conference of the tear out and haul off the Grassy Springs Bridge. For additional information please contact Judge Meltons office and ask for Judge Melton or Lisa Lee. Once on site a detail description will be given of the project to bid. Bids will be accepted until Friday, February 16, 2007 at Judge Meltons office until 4:00 p.m CST. Sheriff Curry and Deputies make 4:00pm bootlegging raid Sheriff Ralph Curry and deputies arrested 39-year-old Charles Harvey after executing a search warrant on Parrott Avenue, Columbia, KY this afternoon. Several hundred units of beer and liquor were confiscated, along with approximately $330 in cash. The arrests followed the execution of a search warrant at 4:00pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2007, by Sheriff Curry and deputies Tracy McCarol, Bruce McCloud, Bill Troutwine, and Charles Greer. Harvey was charged with illegal sale of alcohol in a dry territory. The Adair County Sheriff's office is located at 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY 42728 in the old Adair County Courthouse. Lost bale of hay causes accident on KY 76 A bale of hay which fell from a pickup resulted in an accident near Russell Springs, KY today at around 9:15am. Orvis Anderson, 69, Russell Springs, KY, was westbound on KY 76, when a bale of hay fell from his vehicle. Theodore Beckman, 64, also of Russell Springs, was eastbound on KY 76 in a 2006 Chrysler van. When he swerved to miss the bale of hay he left the roadway and traveled into a ditch. All parties were wearing seat belts. Mr. Beckman was treated and released at Russell County Hospital. LWC Alumni group to explore Spain, Portugal, and Morocco Reception at President's Home is February 8, 2007 By Emily Harlan, Lindsey Wilson College Staff Writer The Lindsey Wilson College Alumni Association invites alumni and friends of the college to visit Spain, Portugal and Morocco this fall. The two-week trip -- which will run from September 16- 29, 2007 -- is a first for the Lindsey Wilson National Alumni Association. Driver arrested after one-vehicle accident An injury accident occurred three miles west of St. Mary's on KY 84, at 4:54pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2006. Ray Stoneum, 50, Bardstown, was operating a 1983 Pickup, eastbound on KY 84. The vehicle dropped off the right shoulder, overcorrected, crossed the road and struck a tree on the left shoulder. A seatbelt was not in use. He was treated and released at Springview Hospital. The driver was arrested on DUI 1st, operating on a suspended operator's license, failure to produce an insurance card, and was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center. The incident was investigated by Trooper Les Moses of Kentucky State Police 15, Columbia, KY..
