Scenic Adair County: The Dr. L.C. Nell home, Gradyville, KY

2007-01-16 - Gradyville, KY - Photo By Linda Waggener.
It was the home of one of the most revered men in Adair County history. Now it is coming to the end of its time. Gary Scott recently bought the one-time home of Dr. L.C. Nell in Gradyville, KY. Dr. Nell was a physician, state representative, and one of the most powerful political leaders in Adair County history. The house and one-half acre on which it stands was recently purchased by Gary Scott, right, who had its demolition to this stage on Sunday, January 14, 2006. Upstairs is Gary's brother, Tony Scott. The materials in the building are being carefully removed and offered for sale. Gary Scott bought the property from Leroy Parson, who had unsuccessfully sought assistance to preserve the house for its historical significance. Gary Scott will place a manufactured home on the land after the house is removed.
