Head-on crash two miles north on KY 55 claims life Driver attempts to pass tractor-trailer, strikes oncoming car head-on, near Sandusky Steel, Adair Animal Hospital; traffic re-routed for several hours An Adair County woman Sharlet Gail Handy, 43, Columbia, KY died as the result of injuries sustained in two vehicle accident on KY 55 2.2 miles north of Columbia, KY. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Adair County Coroner Rick Wilson. The driver of the other vehicle, Danny Bray, 16, Campbellsville, KY, was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Story update 6/15/2006: Garrett Luttrell (not Gary) and Cecelia Kollody (not Falodi) are new part-time animal shelter employee; the price being paid for the Adair Florist is actually $165,000, not $175,000, making the total for the Adair Justice Center $592,500, not $602,500, as previously listed. The errors were a result of fluff in the ears of the reporter By Ed Waggener In last night's successive meetings of Adair County Fiscal Court, the Adair County Public Properties Corporation, and the Adair County Project Development Board, the big news was the approval of the negotiations for the site for the Adair Justice Center. The total price tag of $592,500 is almost 1.5 times the original budgeted $419,000 for site acquisition. Owners of First Realty are to receive $290,000; owners of Adair Florist are to receive $165,000, and $137,500 will be paid for the Adair Muffler site.
