KSP reports fatal accident in Russell County

Trooper Wendell Higgonbotham of the Kentucky State Police investigated a one vehicle accident that resulted in the fatality of Russell Springs resident Clema L. Davis today.

2006 Adair County Relay for Life: Big moment



2006-06-10 - Boosters Field, Adair County High School, Columbia, KY - Photo staff photo. Cancer Survivor Lee Ann Sandusky Collins finally got to meet the bone marrow donor who enabled her life to be saved through a stem cell transplant on July 12, 2003. Though they had talked on the phone many times, it was the first time Lee Ann had met Father Ken Reilly. Relay for Life Chair Peggy Lawson, left, looked on as Lee Ann and Father Reilly shared embraced. Father Reilly, a Kansas City, MO, priest, flew in to Louisville, KY, and was met by Sue Sandusky, Lee Ann's mother. "I wouldn't have missed this," he said. And those who were fortunate enough to witness the scene through the mist of joyful tears, would have agreed. An entire community kept the secret of Father Reilly's participation from Lee Ann until the moment he stepped on stage. Watch for feature story to follow

2006 Relay for Life: A record!

"Don't announce anything less than $90,000," Relay Committee told;
moment came after preliminary tally had reached $89,500 mark.

It was a night which showed the absolute best of in Adair County known for caring and generosity.

While Relay for Life Chair Peggy Lawson announced the triumph, $90,000 was flashed on the screen by Ellen Zornes, the Power Point operator for the night.
