Jessie M. Wheet Hill, 87, dies in Somerset Jessie M. Hill, 87, of Somerset passed away there on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. She was born on August 31, 1918 in the Chance community of Adair County, the daughter of the late Milton and Lena McIntire Wheet. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Local services will be at 2 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Adair County High School, A.L Sinclair on KET Adair County High School and Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator A.L. Sinclair will be featured in the 2006 PRIDE Envi Awards show on Kentucky Educational Television (KET) at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 13. "This show will spotlight our region's best ambassadors, the students and volunteers who take pride in their home," said Richard Thomas, PRIDE executive director. "The TV audience will see these folks at work in the region's scenic landscape. Even local entertainers will be showcased. This program really will show off the good things happening in southern and eastern Kentucky." By Ed Waggener Tbe City of Columbia will have a general fund operating budget of $1,614,318 next year, with spending exceeding revenues by an estimated $148,715. That's no problem for the budget, however, as the city still estimates the general fund balances will have $1,488, 914 at the end of Fiscal Year 2006-2007.
