LWC dining center Novel element of plan has been to develop community centers with high tech facilities. Report says Kentucky led nation in last two years in increased internet usage. By Sage Cutler, ConnectKY advisor to ConnectAdairCounty technology group A group working to make internet more accessible and to increase internet usage in Adair County has released a comprehensive plan to encourage and assist local citizens cope with learning the new medium and to help overcome problems they might encounter. The Latest. Judge Vaughan on Justice Center: No decisions yet from landowners Judge is hopeful. Deadline for acceptance or rejection is Friday, June 2, 2006 at 4:00pm. Landowners offer upped by 10% at May 23, 2006 PDB meeting. Total acquisition offer is $577,500. Owners will have salvage option on improvements. Next meeting date dependent of outcome of land negotiations. By Ed Waggener Adair County Judge Jerry Vaughan said late yesterday afternoon that he remains hopeful that the landowners of the site for the Justice Center will accept the Adair County Project Development Board's (PDB) sweetened offer. The deadline for a decision is Friday, June 2, 2006. So far none of the three landowners has given a final decision to accept or refuse the PDB offer, Judge Vaughan said. Adair County School Board meeting Report May 30, 2006 Board approves near-record $20,707,898.00 FY 2006-07 tentative budget. Adds assistant football coach. Approves Supervisor Curry's full textbook request. Gives cautious go-ahead on ACMS and JA energy savings program. Board is enthusiastic about working with city on cardboard recycling program. Board approves extended days for four positions, but splits on a fifth. Action slightly delayed on completion of Athletic Building. No white smoke from executive session on sale of right of way for bypass. By Ed Waggener The Adair County Board of Education approved a tentative 2006-2007 Fiscal Year Budget of $20,707,898.00, approximately $375,000 more than last year. It was close, but still not a record, Renae Smith, Finance Officer for the District, said, even though the budget has never reached $21,000,000 in the past.
